Font sizes in VS code don't match font sizes in other programs.No reset editor zoom button, and nothing that indicates current zoom level.Much higher resource consumption (330MB vs 49MB RAM with just a single empty Powershell file).Integrated console still doesn't work properly even though it's been like 4 years since VS code originally came out.The end result is that it's missing a lot of tokens that the ISE or Powershell console can highlight, and the ones it can highlight doesn't work properly, see this example where 2 variables have 2 different colors because "true" is a keyword: The syntax highlighting general purpose and is based off of regular expressions that look for keywords, instead of querying the language.Hint box that shows overloads is too small, and has line wrapping which makes it much harder to see the different overloads.Lame joke aside, I like the idea of VS code in theory, but in practice there's just too many issues with it IMO. My favorite shortcut in VS code is Win key + "ISE" + enter. Let me know if I missed any other killer keyboard shortcuts. 'flexible-asset-type-id' = $FlexibleAssetTypeId Shift+Alt+F is super useful - it even automatically lines up the ='s in hashtable/PSCustomObject assignments: $FlexibleAssetData = 'flexible-assets' Move the line the cursor's on up/down in the scriptĬut the entire line (delete it and copy to clipboard)ĭelete the rest of the current "word" (everything up to the next space)Ĭtrl+Tab (hold Ctrl and tap Tab multiple times) ![]() Toggle block commenting (highlight multiple lines then press this to comment them all at once)Īutomatically format/indent all code in the current file This isn't really PowerShell-specific, but so many people here use VS Code to write PS scripts, so I thought I'd share a few useful keyboard shortcuts, in case you haven't come across them yet.
